“I can succeed as a Platform Engineer Lead – Data Migration Specialist at CG”:

As the Platform Engineer Lead, specialized in Data Migration skills and experience, you are an individual contributor in the Capital Group (CG) Technology Services and Operations (TSO) - Platform Technologies team.

The Platform Technologies team is part of TSO in CG’s Information Technology Group. In the role you will be help us drive data migration frameworks and processes that support our transformation and migration activities from on-premise Data Centers to the Public Cloud to facilitate well-planned and successful migration cutovers.

You will be responsible for managing, oversight, implementing processes and oversight of procedures of a Data Migration Factory including coordinating and communicating with the key technology / business stakeholders for well-planned migrations of different types of data sources such as File-based, RDBMS-based (SQLserver/Oracle) and other forms of persistent data stores structured/unstructured.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

· Own programs of work which drive improvements across enterprise systems and processes, identifying challenges and pain points, and provide novel approaches of solving them.

· Provide technical solutions to day-to-day challenges using existing internal/external technologies.

· Support our data-driven approach by gathering, analyzing, and presenting data gathered from a range of internal systems to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions.

· Support migration teams, project teams, stakeholders in operational support request and progression of the service.

· Act as a technical leader in data migration activities at scale, engaging with stakeholders across the business to drive collaborative improvement efforts that minimize risk of migration and ensure adherence to schedule.

· Analyze migration processes and prepare reports documenting identified opportunities, their potential impact, and recommended remediation actions.

· Work closely with cross-functional teams across technology: infrastructure, architecture and information security as required to support best practices around data migrations for the overall success of the Cloud Program including transition/handover to Day 2 Ops Support.

· You will be expected to communicate effectively and have an empathetic outlook towards development teams by authoring clear, actionable guidance for the Data Migration Factory resources (internal/external/partner resources).

· Keep up to date with the latest efficient migration processes/tooling, cost-effective techniques to continuously improve migration methodologies including viable contingency processes and stay

ahead of risks. Be an active advocate towards modern software development teams to advance forward-looking cost-efficient technologies.

· You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

· You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in working directly with engineering teams.

· You have a minimum of 10 years of technical product or program management experience.

· You have a minimum of 5 years of at-scale data migration experience, including a technical leadership role in implementing data migration activities at a minimum of five companies/clients, preferably in the financial area.

· You have a minimum of 3 years of program management disciples including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.

· You have a minimum of 4 years experience partnering with vendors/contractors to provide services within the department including requirements identification, work planning and oversight, financial management, and outcome management

· You have a minimum of 5 years working in both a Corporate Data Center and Public Cloud environment (Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure).

· You have Solution Architecture experience and ideally related Cloud Provider certification.

· You have a Developer mindset and experience engineering solutions through code and cloud-native products

· You have excellent communication skills (written, oral), with the ability to simplify and document complex technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· You can learn quickly and have a track record of developing a deep understanding of systems and risks to the business.

· You can coach and work with engineers to operate a highly efficient data migration factory.

· You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

· You can work independently, collaboratively and take the initiative to drive migration initiatives forward.

· You can manage multiple tasks and coordinate/delegate to achieve speedy resolutions to application migration-related challenges.

This role is hybrid (in-office 3 days/week) and can be in Irvine CA, San Antonio TX, or New York NY depending on candidate current location and/or preference.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
