The Oryx Senior Loss Control Consultant is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks for primarily construction companies as well as some manufacturing companies. This role involves conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs, and providing expert consultation on loss prevention strategies tailored to the company's needs, and conducting training sessions.
  • Risk Assessment and Analysis: Conduct detailed evaluations of company's operations, equipment, and work practices to identify potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Safety Program Review: Review safety programs for completeness and effectiveness at controlling and minimizing the potential accidents and losses to occur.
  • Consultation and Training: Provide expert consultation to companies on safety matters, helping them develop and maintain effective safety policies and procedures. Create training materials and conduct safety training sessions for workers and management.
  • Incident Investigation: Support company's efforts to investigate incidents and accidents to determine their causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that companies are complying with local, state, and federal safety regulations through regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports including risk assessments, safety inspections, incident/accidents, and present these findings both internally and externally.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with underwriting, claims, agents and company representatives, to ensure that loss control procedures and processes remain effective.
  • Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with Oryx clients and independent agents, providing them with relevant safety information and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
