OVERVIEW:

This role will be responsible for managing a team of associates, will be accountable for the accurate and timely payment of indirect or direct spend, and consistent operation of subsystems currently feeding into ERP. Additionally, this role is required to work cross functionally with all areas of the organization and all levels to support business initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Payables Processing:

  • Responsible for end-to-end operations of payables processing in accordance to GAAP; facilitate accurate and timely payments while ensuring corporate policies and contractual obligations are maintained
  • Manage relationships with vendor partners and resolve issues as needed
  • Work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Vertical Brands, Supply Chain, and Trade Compliance as needed
  • Monitor and report on KPI’s to identify trends and take appropriate corrective actions

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Train and lead team of associates at varying skill levels; distribute vendor portfolios and measure teammate performance to ensure goals are achieved
  • Reviews and audit work performed by team for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Build a talent pipeline for organizational needs and foster a positive team working environment that prioritizes the importance of partnership and leadership skills
  • Identify opportunities to expand teammates understanding of the organization by challenging teammates with ad hoc projects/assignments as they arise

Systems/Technical Skills:

  • Oversee the operation of merchandising subsystems and liase with external vendors and internal IT partners to ensure business continuity and timely resolution of disruptions
  • Ensure systems are in balance and investigate discrepancies
  • Drive transformation through process innovation, automation, and optimization of resources

Policy/Procedure/Strategic Initiatives:

  • Leveraging knowledge of financial controls/SOX and ensure compliance
  • Provide subject matter expertise in all discussions that impact Accounts Payables; demonstrate critical thinking and ability to drive change
  • Identify areas of operational opportunities and help develop systematic & procedural improvements that will enable the team to provide more value to internal and external partners
  • Support ad hoc requests as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Business Management, Finance, Accounting or related field

  • 5 - 7 Years Experience

  • peopleSoft Financial Required
