029331 Infrastructure Analyst / Specialist (Open)

Job Description:

Under direct supervision, performs general tasks to aid in the ongoing support of micro environments. May perform LAN/hard disk backups. Assists with end-user questions and problems. May work on simple applications. Installs software and peripherals. May also troubleshoot basic hardware problems. Conducts research on new technology as requested.

Key Responsibilities 

• Maintains, assists, and adjusts all new and present network hardware, software, and communication techniques.
• Monitors network performance and troubleshoots problem areas as required.
• Responds to user requests and service desk referrals when troubleshooting computer software, hardware, peripherals or production-related equipment issues. 
• Coordinates network traffic along with LAN and WAN installation.
• Inspects LAN and WAN infrastructure for problems.
• Assists in the installation of computer network connections including cabling.
• Addresses and solves system failures to increase network uptime.
• Evaluates network functionality and create data backups.
• Provides end-user PC hardware and software application trouble resolution, along with support for other IT assets onsite, such as the LAN, servers and email.
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience 

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience. 

Knowledge and Skills 

• General knowledge of IT functions required.
• Good skills in customer service, and verbal, written and mathematical skills.
• Good skills in supporting of the company's operating system in a domain environment.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidential information is required.
