Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Facilities Engineering Manager of Project Management 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Facilities organization. This leadership position will be located in Clearfield, Utah and cannot be performed remotely.

Job Description:

The Facilities Engineering Manager of Project Management will oversee a team of Project Managers responsible for large-scale equipment installations across our manufacturing facilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of project management best practices, and extensive experience in managing complex installation projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all projects are executed efficiently, on time, within budget, and in alignment with company goals and standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, providing guidance on best practices, project execution, and professional development
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set individual and team goals, and implement improvement plans as necessary
  • Oversee all equipment installation projects across multiple facilities, ensuring consistency in project delivery and adherence to company standards
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for project-related issues, providing support and solutions to ensure project continuity
  • Coordinate with senior management, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to align project priorities and resources
  • Review and approve project plans, budgets, and schedules submitted by Project Managers, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and operational needs
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Oversee the budgeting process for all equipment installation projects, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources
  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders
  • Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to guarantee that equipment installations meet or exceed technical specifications and performance requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, engineering teams, and production staff, to ensure alignment on project objectives
  • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to senior management and other key stakeholders, providing transparent and actionable insights
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 7 years of related experience as defined below; OR a Masters degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience as defined below; OR a PhD with 3 years of related experience as defined below
  • Related experience includes facilities engineering, project management, or related
  • Three years of prior leadership experience in a managerial, supervisory, or lead capacity
  • Experience in managing large-scale equipment installation projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to make strategic decisions under pressure
  • Ability to present information to individuals at all levels
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and special access program (SAP) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the needs of the business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • PMP Certification
  • Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems and advanced machinery
  • Proficiency in project management software
  • Experience in aerospace industry

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
