Medical Assistant Team Lead 

Arbor North | Jackson, MI 

Pay: $18.00-$20.00/hr | $500 Sign-On Bonus 

Part-Time | Facility-Based Role | Approximately 24 Hours per Week 

Location : Arbor North, Jackson, MI

Position Type: Team Lead / Medical Assistant 

Care Setting: Facility shift 

Schedule Need: 7a-12p and 4p-9p availability 

We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant Team Lead to support our Arbor North facility in Jackson, MI. This is a part-time, facility-based role for someone who is compassionate, dependable, hands-on, and comfortable helping lead a team while also providing direct care support. 

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with elderly or disabled individuals, can take initiative, and is ready to serve as a strong on-site support for both clients and care staff. 

Schedule 

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 24 hours per week. Candidates must be available to support coverage during the following priority shift windows: 

Morning coverage window 

Evening coverage window 

7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

Availability is needed across all days of the week. This schedule is not considered flexible, so candidates should have open availability within these coverage windows to meet facility needs. 

Sign-On Bonus 

This position is eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus, paid as follows: 

  • $250 after the first working assignment 

  • $250 after 60 days of employment

What You Will Do 

As a Medical Assistant Team Lead, you will support both patient care and team operations within the facility. Responsibilities may include: 

  • Provide hands-on personal care and medical assistant support based on client care needs 

  • Support elderly and disabled individuals with daily care activities 

  • Lead, guide, and support caregivers during assigned shifts 

  • Assist with task direction, coaching, and issue resolution for care staff 

  • Monitor client wellbeing, including physical, mental, and emotional status 

  • Report significant changes in client condition to the appropriate supervisor 

  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates as needed 

  • Promote patient safety by identifying concerns and escalating them appropriately 

  • Follow HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards 

  • Represent Elara Caring with professionalism, compassion, and courtesy 

  • Attend required trainings and participate in skill development opportunities 

  • Support implementation of policies, procedures, and process improvements 

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and staff information 

  • Perform additional duties or assignments as needed 

What Is Required? 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 

  • Medical Assistant certification in the state of Michigan 

  • Previous experience providing care to elderly or disabled individuals preferred 

  • Leadership, team lead, or shift lead experience preferred 

  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and support care staff professionally 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care 

  • Ability to problem-solve, follow instructions, and prioritize tasks 

  • Comfortable supporting schedules, task assignments, and daily care coordination 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and supervisors 

  • Knowledge of basic medical assistant and personal care support tasks 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, assist with transfers, and handle equipment 

  • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs as needed 

Work Setting 

This is a facility-based position at Arbor North in Jackson, MI. This is not a traveling home-to-home assignment, and transportation between client homes is not required for this role. 

You will report to the Branch Manager.
