Position Summary
The Internet Operations Manager provides leadership to the Technical Operations team with the day-to-day challenges and opportunities related to Armstrong’s Internet (Zoom) platform. This role will be involved in directing all aspects of technical management associated with the team maintaining Internet software, and related hardware and network technology. Responsible for planning and managing budgets, business objectives, daily activities, and meeting deadlines. Work to implement innovative technologies/processes to make Armstrong’s Internet Zoom Service the best customer experience possible.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred
- 7+ years of technical experience in Internet operations desired.
- 2+ years management experience desired.
- Must be a servant leader and work well in a team environment.
- Must demonstrate a keen sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Innovative and consultative approach to technical problem solving.
- Must be familiar with TCP/IP protocol, DHCP, LDAP, DNS environments and scripting language.
- Willingness to travel overnight.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate hands-on leadership approach, when necessary, to ensure operational success.
- Provides successful planning and implementation of Internet Operations initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and document standard operating procedures for existing and new systems, in collaboration with the Customer Service Center, Field Operations and Network Operations.
- Demonstrate a high degree of personal availability to support the operational needs of the business.
- Manage and support internet operations related issues for both residential and commercial customers.
- Ensures consistent delivery and operations of high-quality internet solutions and services.
- Manage department personnel with a focus on staffing retention, growth, training, and recognition.
- Work closely with other departments and provide support/critical feedback.
- Maintain and manage good vendor relationships to ensure timely and effective support.
- Manage internet services investment and resources according to companies’ policy and procedures.
- Manage, develop, and provide daily support for NOC website and related tools.
- Manage and maintain IPDR systems, DB management and VM server infrastructure.
- Provide and manage back-office applications, CPE support, and IP addresses and related systems.
- Research and develop innovative technologies/software for Armstrong’s Internet Zoom Service.
- Support systems remotely and on-site to improve the Armstrong Customer Experience as it relates to internet products.
- Develop annual departmental budget outlooks and technical goals in support of corporate objectives.
