Position Summary:

The Analytics Technical Architect is responsible for hands-on architecture, design, and development of modern, scalable analytics and data platforms using SAP, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, and Power BI to support Oatey’s expanding analytics capabilities.

This role combines deep technical expertise with architectural leadership. A significant portion of the role involves actively building and optimizing data pipelines, semantic models, and BI solutions while also leading technical design decisions, analytics intake, and solution governance.

The Analytics Technical Architect partners closely with business and IT teams to translate complex requirements into performant, secure, and reusable data products. This role emphasizes engineering excellence, DevOps best practices, and the enablement of advanced and AI-driven analytics as platform capabilities mature.

Position Responsibilities:

Design & Develop

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to translate business needs into detailed data and analytics requirements.

  • Define technical data products including facts, dimensions, grain, lineage, and acceptance criteria.

  • Design end-to-end solution architectures and maintain detailed technical documentation, diagrams, and standards.

Data architecture & engineering

  • Architect and implement medallion-layered data platforms (bronze, silver, gold) optimized for analytics, reporting, and AI workloads.

  • Design and develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, and SAP data sources.

  • Implement incremental load strategies, CDC patterns, partitioning, and performance tuning techniques.

  • Apply DevOps practices including source control, CI/CD pipelines, environment promotion, and automated testing for data assets.

Semantic modeling & BI development

  • Design and develop enterprise semantic models, certified datasets, and KPI definitions in Power BI.

  • Develop advanced DAX measures, calculations, and row-level security models.

  • Create high-quality dashboards and reports while establishing UX, performance, and governance standards.

  • Enable governed self-service analytics for associates through reusable, well-documented models.

AI & advanced analytics enablement

  • Explore, prototype, and implement AI-enabled analytics capabilities as platforms mature and business needs evolve.

  • Design data architecture that supports AI, machine learning, and conversational analytics use cases.

  • Ensure responsible, secure, and scalable integration of AI features within analytics solutions.

Business Partnership & Associate Enablement

  • Serve as a trusted technical partner translating business challenges into scalable analytics solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analytics solutions with enterprise architecture and standards.

  • Evangelize technical best practices and provide mentoring, documentation, and enablement to analytics users.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 8 years of IT or data engineering experience.

  • At least 10 years of experience delivering analytics, reporting, and data solutions using Microsoft technologies.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, Power BI, and SAP data integration.

  • Advanced expertise in data modeling, SQL development, performance optimization, and DAX.

  • Experience implementing DevOps, CI/CD, security, and governance practices for analytics platforms.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Compensation Range for the Position:

$101,974.00 - $132,566.00 - $163,158.00 USD

Target Cash Profit Sharing for the Position:

15.00%

Offer amount determined by experience and review of internal talent.
