Job Description:

Job Summary 

The Dispatch Specialist handles day-to-day service issues within an operation (e.g., on-call Air pickups, heavy pick-up accounts, unforeseen events,etc.). This position coordinates the needs and efforts of the operation to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction is met. He/She facilitates the smooth execution of procedures and management of systems.

Job TypePart-Time / Permanent

Workdays: Monday to Friday(must be able to work ALL 5 days of the week)

Shift Hours (must be able to work a minimum of 25 hrs. per week). 

• 8:30 AM - 13:30 PM

Shift Duration: 5 hours a day (requires flexibility with Start and Finish times). 

Work Location: 410 MOUNT EDWARD ROAD UNIT 9, CHARLOTTETOWN, PE C1E 2A1, Canada

Salary: $22 per hour

JOB DUTIES

  • Dispatches delivery and pick-up events to communicate projected transportation flows

  • Balances pick-up work among service providers as needed to incorporate into dispatch plans.

  • Reviews and analyzes data

  • Resolves customer concerns within the operation

  • Monitors internal systems and overall administrative functioning

  • Supports safety and compliance within the operation

  • Plans and completes work with thoroughness, giving attention to specific information, and individual details, conditions, necessary record keeping and elements of that work.

  • Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma, GED, or International Equivalent

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential

  • The successful candidate must have their own vehicle to ensure they are able to travel between 2 different locations as needed to support the business.

  • Multi-tasking abilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
