Your role and responsibilities

At ABB, we help important industries outrun—leaner and cleaner. As a Quality Technician, you'll make that happen by rethinking, rewiring, and continuously improving quality processes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system, including conducting audits, establishing controls, training on tools and methodologies. Each day, you will support activities related to quality management within the organizational unit. You will also showcase your expertise by reporting quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and customer cases and maintaining process documentation.

This is a fixed-term contract position covering parental leave. The work model for the role is #onsite.

This role is contributing to the Quality Division of Medium Voltage Switch Gear Business in New Zealand. Main stakeholders are Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and Supply Chain Management. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Reporting quality issues data, ensuring adherence to quality management system at all stages
• Acquiring and reporting quality metrics and KPIs accurately and in a timely manner to facilitate the analysis and management of local processes
• Utilizing measurement systems to produce data that reflect the accurate characteristics of materials, products, systems, and processes
• Conduct precise component and product inspections using digital micrometers, gauges, and measuring equipment
• Document and track quality issues, deviations, and corrective actions

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or Industrial Manufacturing
• 3-5 years of proven experience in quality inspection, measuring equipment operation, and maintaining inspection logs
• Demonstrated understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001:2015 standard
• You are passionate about problem-solving, collaboration, process improvement
• Attention to detail and precision along with excellent communication skills
• You demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
