The product owner is responsible for the ownership and managing of the backlog for their assigned pillar, contributes to the product roadmap, understands customer and market needs for the Mission Critical Voice products.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level customer requirements and deep-tech engineering execution. Partnering closely with Product Management, you will leverage your technical background to create user stories, define technical features, and ensure the engineering team delivers highly reliable, resilient communication solutions.
Beyond technical execution, you must possess the unique ability to translate complex backend architecture into clear, value-driven impact statements for customers, sales, and support teams.
Own the Backlog: Build, edit, prioritize, and maintain the team backlog, including user stories, defects, technical debt, and research spikes.
Agile Leadership: Lead and participate in all core Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, team demos, and retrospectives).
Story Refinement: Detail robust user stories complete with clear acceptance criteria; validate completions against the Definition of Done (DoD).
Release Planning: Partner with Product Managers to contribute to the long-term roadmap, manage cross-team dependencies, and present the product vision to engineering squads.
Design & UX Partnership: Develop strong relationships with UI/UX and research teams to ensure workflows are intuitive and optimized for high-stress environments.
Technical Translation: Deeply understand technical architecture to translate functional customer requirements into precise, developer-ready technical specifications.
Infrastructure Strategy: Collaborate with Engineering to scope research spikes, assist in architectural decision-making, and sequence critical technological infrastructure.
Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the voice of the user, championing customer needs while effectively communicating technical impacts to non-technical stakeholders (Sales, Support, and Clients).
Experience leveraging AI to solve complex, high-stress workflow bottlenecks.
Obsesses over solving complex workflow problems for dispatchers.
Firm understanding of software design, user interaction, and user interface design
Deep technical knowledge in software development methodologies
Experience utilizing product and project management tools such as Jira
Align with the enhanced focus on prioritizing and developing important aspects of mission critical products, such as availability, reliability, and stability
Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
Polished presentation skills for internal and external audiences
Proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problems
Capable of quickly evaluating and prioritizing new projects alongside customer feedback
Strong ability to take complex user requirements and distill them into a format that is intuitive and clear to developers as well as non-technical staff
Ability to research and analyze project requirements from various stakeholders
Build consensus among stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team spread across multiple continents in a fast-moving environment
Ability to multi-task among various assignments
Experience within the Public Safety industry is a plus
