The Opportunity
The eBay Collectibles Team is looking for a Category Manager of US Trading Cards to work with our top sellers and help them deliver their GMB and profit goals. You will work externally with sellers and brands as well as internally with Product Teams, Marketing, and Analytics to drive our business goals. Alongside the Collectibles Team, you will grow our selection, improve our trust with customers (buyer and sellers), and deliver the best possible collecting experience.
What you will accomplish:
Seller Performance. Develop and implement the annual operating plan for your sellers. Help them to understand what drives seller performance at eBay and lead them in implementing the plan.
Grow Selection. Work with your sellers to understand selection opportunities to coordinate an inventory of cards and memorabilia for our customers..
Improve Buyer and Seller Trust. Manage eBay's buyer and seller trust metrics through projects that help customers feel more comfortable buying and selling on eBay.
Improve the Customer Experience. Work with consumer insights, sellers, and buyers to identify customer struggles and communicate their impact to cross functional teams for triage..
Business Reporting: Dive deep into the business to understand the key levers/drivers and report on the business critical metrics including conversion rate, ASP, top buyer/seller growth, listings growth, lead time, CSAT and more on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Site Merchandising: Responsible for defining a 52-week calendar outlining key retail moments, and seasonal events where eBays should show up on the homepage and category pages (Ex. Superbowl) - partnering with the merchandising team to develop events that generate relevancy, visibility, and GMV growth.
What you bring:
5+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility as a business owner in an online retail or marketplace environment. Merchandising or Startup experience valued.
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred or equivalent
Execution-driven, growth-oriented, ownership approach to drive performance against agreed critical metrics
Deep insight into the digital sector
Effective at coordinating cross functional teams
Ability to prioritize and adapt strategies to meet changing marketplace trends
Experience influencing & negotiating with external partners
Strong project management and problem-solving skills
Experienced at negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes with third parties in complex negotiations
Executive-level presentation and communication skills
Bonus = Passion for Sports Memorabilia with a broader interest in Collectibles/Vinyl Records including experience in the space and/or relationships with key industry players
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
$106,800 - $162,800Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
