We’re looking for a Senior Information Security Specialist to join our team, reporting to our Director of Information Security. In this role, you’ll help shape how we work on daily firewall operations and complex firewall related incidents.

What You'll Do

  • Work on firewall requests (planning, documenting and implementing firewall openings)

  • Communicate with clients (both internal and external) for any firewall-related matters

  • Troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated firewall-related incidents

  • Perform firewall upgrades with pre- and post-checks

  • Collaborate with other teams on daily basis with regards to firewall requests, incidents and upgrades

  • Participate in CAB meetings and represent firewall changes

  • Good understanding of OSI Layers/understanding of network security technologies

  • Expertise on firewall hardware products - Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint

  • Expertise on Firewall Management products -  Panorama, FortiManager, Checkpoint Mgmt Server

  • Good understanding in VPN concepts (S2S IPSec VPN, SSL Remote VPN)

  • Understanding of firewall OS upgrade process and specifics for different vendors is a plus (both standalone and HA)

  • Basic knowledge of IDS/IPS technologies

  • Understanding of attack activities, such as scans, man in the middle, sniffing, DoS, etc and possible abnormal activities, such as worms, Trojans, viruses, etc

  • Referring knowledge base for identified known threats and performing analysis, providing mitigation plan

  • Experience with IT Operation tools like ITSM, Jira

  • Understanding of ITIL processes

  • Good understanding of Change management, Incident management and Problem Management processes

  • Being able to perform preliminary analysis of alerts and submitting incident tickets

  • Follow the defined process to complete open firewall requests to maintain adherence to defined SLAs

  • Ability to support 24/7 on-call rotation

Nice to Have

  • Experience with log analysis tool like Splunk is a plus

  • Ability to learn new technologies, including but not limited to Cloud technologies and terraform deployments.

  • Experience with firewall analyzer tool experience is a plus (security policies/ACLs and config analysis, tools like Skybox, AlgoSec, etc.)

  • Network monitoring tool experience is a plus (i.e. NNMi

  • Education Required:  Degree qualified in Computers Science, Information Systems or other related discipline, or equivalent work experience.    
  • Experience Required:  At least 8 years

This position can be located in Denver, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

The base pay range for this role is $107,000 - $198,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
