Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a Business Controller in Motion High Power’s Motors and Generators Regional Business Line Europe in Helsinki. You will support Global Business Line Manager, and will be acting as a business partner to the Region Business Line Europe Manager influencing strategic decisions, driving financial performance, and helping to shape the future of the Business Line. You will support decision-making by monitoring, analyzing and interpreting financial data, evaluating business scenarios, and recommending the most suitable actions. This position offers an exciting opportunity in a dynamic, international environment, with responsibilities spanning multiple areas of financial management. The role is based in Helsinki Pitäjänmäki office, operating under a hybrid working model. The Regional Business Controller is a member of the Regional Business Line management team.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Owning and managing the financial performance of the Regional Business Line, notably Finland and Estonia
• Supporting the Region Manager in making effective business decisions by analyzing and interpreting financial data, evaluating alternative business scenarios, and recommending optimal solutions
• Translating business strategy into business plans and monitoring of measurable targets
• Promoting transparent and efficient controlling structures and financial systems
• Leading monthly closing, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Driving cost efficiency, cash flow, productivity improvements and capital efficiency, providing insights and analysis to support operational decision‑making
• Ensure compliance with the company’s governance model and internal controls within the local business line
• Leading and developing the local finance team, including competence development, tools, systems, and processes
• Leading, guiding and facilitating best‑practice sharing to ensure consistency of controlling practices across the organization
• Ensuring timely and efficient communication with stakeholders

Qualifications for the role

• Several years’ experience of business controlling roles in a global environment
• Strong business acumen and excellent knowledge of finance processes and tools, including SAP
• Experience in leading a finance team and demonstrated leadership capabilities
• Experience in manufacturing operations and related financial processes is a strong advantage
• Experience in setting up and managing Local Sales Units and LSU Structures is a strong advantage
• Proven track record of execution and delivering results in an international setting
• Good collaboration and communications skills
• Professional working proficiency in Finnish and English; additional languages are an asset
• Recognized as a strong team player with excellent collaboration and business partnering skills
• Master’s degree in a relevant field

The High Power Division offers a comprehensive product portfolio of large AC motors and generators and drives. From general purpose to highly customized designs, synchronous motors and high voltage induction motors provide high efficiency, reliability and availability across all major industries and applications, including some in the toughest and most demanding environments. The division also has a long track record of designing and building generators for wide range of industries, including power generation, marine, oil and gas, mining, and data centers.
