About the Role

The Senior Technical Program Manager supports Product & Engineering as a cross-functional team member with a specific focus on execution and delivery. This role is accountable for the execution of innovative product development initiatives involving multiple teams and third-party partners. TPMs establish the execution strategy, form cohesive plans, and work collaboratively to bring all the various pieces together ensuring everyone involved is responsible for making it happen through all phases of the product development lifecycle. Senior Technical Program Managers facilitate the successful delivery of some of our most complex and high impact initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Engineering leads, and engage with third-party development partners to deliver on initiatives involving multiple teams both internal and external to Platform Science.
  • Develop project roadmaps and adaptive plans to continually identify critical path, dependencies, risks, and unknowns; ensure progress is transparent and visible to leadership
  • Understand the product strategy and key business objectives; ensure the team has a shared purpose, shared understanding, and a sense of urgency to deliver against these objectives
  • Lead the teams in agile estimation and forecasting; track progress towards “working software” deliverables using empirical data while helping the team inspect and adapt to deliver high quality, well-tested solutions that meet/exceed the project timelines and objectives
  • Manage dependencies, get ahead of risks, and surface information that will allow the teams to make good strategic decisions and tradeoffs
  • Establish, support, and improve the development process with our third-party partners
  • Work closely with Product Operations coordinating releases with internal teams and partners
  • Build bridges and create alignment; facilitate collaboration, teamwork, and communication to ensure we are operating effectively as one-team across Platform Science.
  • Actively identify areas of improvement; apply systems thinking and lean principles to streamline efficiency and value delivery
  • Promote a trusting and safe environment that allows team members to engage in healthy debate and collaborative problem solving

Experience

  • A self-starter; understand the expected outcome, get the context, and then work entrepreneurially to get it done
  • An excellent facilitator, amazing communicator, and skilled listener with a strong understanding of team dynamics
  • Passion for product strategy, agile, and traditional project management methodologies; ability to combine and develop hybrid tools to drive project and team success
  • Understands how to navigate complex business and interpersonal issues in a fast-paced environment; seeing problems as opportunities
  • Brings people together to create alignment rather than being a communication go between
  • Exhibits a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work in a hyper-growth environment; in other words, you can roll up your sleeves and thrive in a fast-paced start-up
  • 10+ years of program/project management experience in a SaaS/PaaS or tech organization
  • Proven track record as a Technical Program Manager; can provide real-life examples leading large, complex, multi-team product development initiatives where you increased efficiency and speed while reducing costs
  • Agile, Scrum, and/or Project Management certifications; ability to demonstrate expert level knowledge of core competencies of both agile methodologies and traditional project management practices; prior experience as a product manager, engineer, scrum master/agile coach is helpful
  • Experience with Infrastructure teams supporting engineering led initiatives preferred
  • Experience with driving hardware ODM development projects from start to finish preferred

This is an exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $125,000 and $185,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
