Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for engaging with stakeholders across Commercial Excellence, Sales, Marketing, Services, Operations, Finance, and other business functions to understand business objectives, define requirements, and drive end-to-end solution delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with business leaders and functional stakeholders to understand strategic priorities, operational challenges, and reporting needs.
  • Lead business discovery workshops and requirement gathering sessions across multiple business functions.
  • Challenge and refine stakeholder requests to ensure proposed solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with enterprise BI best practices.
  • Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders and act as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Translate complex business problems into analytical use cases and reporting solutions.

Business Requirements & Solution Design

  • Own the end-to-end Business Requirements Document (BRD) process from requirement gathering through stakeholder sign-off.
  • Define project scope, objectives, success criteria, assumptions, risks, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with business users to prioritize initiatives based on business impact, urgency, effort, and organizational priorities.
  • Perform gap analysis between existing reporting capabilities and future business requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly documented before development begins and remain aligned throughout project execution.

Business Operations & Analytics

  • Develop a strong understanding of business operations across Commercial Excellence, Sales, Marketing, Services, Operations, Finance, and other enterprise functions.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and operational improvements through analytics.
  • Recommend KPI frameworks and reporting strategies that enable better business decision-making.
  • Drive data-driven discussions with business leaders by interpreting trends, identifying opportunities, and presenting actionable insights.

Project Delivery & Governance

  • Work closely with BI Developers, Data Engineers, Data Architects, and Business SMEs to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support project planning, backlog prioritization, effort estimation, and release planning.
  • Ensure adherence to BOI governance processes, documentation standards, and quality practices.
  • Coordinate UAT planning, stakeholder reviews, production sign-offs, and change management activities.
  • Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

  • Partner with the BI development team during solution design to ensure reporting requirements are translated correctly.
  • Review dashboards and reports to validate alignment with business expectations.
  • Recommend improvements in data storytelling, visualization, usability, and executive reporting.
  • Ensure consistency in KPI definitions, business logic, and reporting standards across business functions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, governance, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote standardized reporting frameworks and reusable analytics assets.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled analytics, self-service BI, and modern reporting capabilities.
  • Contribute to building BOI knowledge repositories, process documentation, and best practices.

Desired Characteristics & Technical Expertise

  • Good experience in Business Intelligence, Business Operations, Analytics Consulting, Reporting, or Business Analysis.
  • Strong understanding of business operations across Commercial Excellence, Sales, Marketing, Services, Operations, Finance, or similar business functions.
  • Proven experience managing senior business stakeholders and leading requirement discovery sessions.
  • Extensive experience creating and managing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, User Stories, Process Flows, and Solution Documentation.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, Agile delivery, backlog management, and stakeholder governance.
  • Ability to translate business challenges into scalable analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify business trends, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Experience working with enterprise reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases to support business analysis and validate reporting requirements.
  • Experience with enterprise business applications such as Salesforce (SFDC), SAP, Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, Oracle P6, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, KPI frameworks, data quality, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex analytical concepts to executive leadership.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
