Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Lead Software Engineer in Charlotte, NC.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Lead Software Engineer will take full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code; create optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices, and consider scalability, reliability and performs of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs; perform analysis on failures, propose design changes and encourage operational improvements; make design and coding decisions; apply feedback from code reviews to meet standards; conduct code review to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures; ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices; ensure tasks are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; develop REST microservices using Spring Framework for Server-side processing; follow TDD (Test Driven Development) approach and utilize unit testing tools; format code using static code analysis tools; onboard existing applications on Private cloud; integrate application with Splunk; create Logical Diagrams and Sequence Diagrams; create use case diagrams for business requirements; create Entity Relationships Diagrams based on data models; write HQL, Hibernate Criteria, Named Queries and SQL Queries and stored procedures targeting SQL server, Oracle and DB2 database; perform SQL Query optimization using profiling and SQL Query tuning techniques; perform code quality reviews; fix issues in Production or in UAT/SIT environments; create a run book for delivery to production support team; work with End Users of Application for User Acceptance test and collect feedback from users; build and deploy projects and create release artifacts required as per Cloud provider specification; manage bi-weekly releases and build/deployment activities; track status of all defects opened during test execution; prioritize, troubleshoot and fix defects; communicate blockers and delays before escalation is required; collaborate with business users and technical architects to understand current and forecasted IT infrastructure needs; and prepare functional specification documents and technical design documents. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple Positions.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of experience as a Senior Associate – Software, Assistant Manager- Technology, or related.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 5 years of experience with: (a) driving high-level and detailed technical designs; (b) conducting technical reviews; (c) defining solution requirements and technical implementation approaches; (d) agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles; (e) developing applications, rest services and user-interface; (f) software configuration management; (g) building and deploying applications over various environments; (h) writing optimized, flexible and extensible applications; and (i) utilizing the following tools and technologies: JUnit; FindBug; Mockito; SONAR; Tortoise SVN; Tortoise GIT; Bitbucket; Jenkins; uDeploy; CI/CD; Docker; Kubernetes; Java, Advanced Java; Spring MVC; Hibernate; Spring Boot; Angular; Material UI; SVN; GIT; Weblogic; Websphere; Pivotal Cloud Foundry; Openshift; Oracle 11g; DB2; Sql Server; and PL/SQL. Experience may be gained concurrently. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
