The Conard Learning Center is a vibrant learning space where students come together to collaborate on projects, work on assignments, and receive assistance from peer tutors in Math, Writing, Science, and more. Students benefit from time spent in the CLC by improving their academics skills and forming relationships with other students. The center is also a source of workforce development for the students who are employed there.

The Academic Success and Enrichment Specialist 2 of the Conard Learning Center acts in an administrative and supervisory capacity for the CLC tutor operations, while being a crucial partner of the campus Academic Success Team. In this role, the Director:

  • Manages and evaluates the tutoring services and programs specifically for math, science, and writing courses, but also others when needed.
  • Acts as liaison between students and faculty to provide academic support
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises 25-30 student employees per year
  • Manages the CLC budget efficiently by using data-driven approaches to scheduling student workers
  • Manages the testing center and proctors exams for external clients and College Credit Plus/dual enrollment students needing Accuplacer.
  • Supports on-campus events such as orientations, Buckeye Preview Day, etc.
  • Provides outreach via university platforms, such as Oncourse (EAB Navigate).
  • Creates and distributes promotional materials, including maintaining CLC social media pages.
  • Designs and supervises programs to help students succeed academically.
  • Collects and analyzes data through a variety of platforms to make data-driven decisions surrounding program offerings and staffing.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience training and managing people
  • Experience in education and specifically peer-tutoring environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Teams and Excel, ability to learn university systems such as Oncourse (EAB Navigate), Student Information System, Tableau dashboards
