The Walmart LocalFinds team is a new venture at Walmart that is on a mission to revolutionize the local shopping experience. Walmart LocalFinds partners with local retailers to make their businesses and products discoverable to customers and available for same-day in-store pickup and local delivery. Job Description Summary 

The Walmart LocalFinds team is looking for a results-oriented Sr. Manager of Business Development to identify, pursue, and close new Enterprise retailer selection. You will be reporting to the Head of Business Development for Enterprise on the LocalFinds team and will be responsible for the acquisition of Enterprise retailers for Walmart LocalFinds, as well as:   

 

  • Driving execution of retailer acquisition strategy and acting as the voice of the retailer internally to help refine the BD team’s overall strategy, improve sales processes, and help inform our retailer approach. 

  • Ensuring that selection and GMV goals are being met by evaluating ongoing effectiveness of current team processes and initiatives while applying suggestions for improving efficiency. 

  • Pitching and clearly communicating the value of Walmart LocalFinds to C-level retailer leaders. Using data and insights to influence retailer decisions. 

  • Influencing the overall sales strategy and management of key deals; negotiating partnership agreements with retailers to drive mutually beneficial profits, quality, and supply of new local businesses. 

  • Collaborating with internal teams to identify opportunities to find Enterprise partnership leads

 

 

You'll Make an Impact by: 

  • Executing the BD team’s acquisition strategy to ensure high quality US Enterprise retailers join the marketplace and bring over their strategic and in-demand assortment.  

  • Pursuing and closing Enterprise partnership opportunities with a relentless drive to generate results for the overall BD team.  

  • Demonstrating a growth mindset and navigating in ambiguous environments within a highly matrixed organization. 

  • Serving as a trusted thought partner to retailers as well as internal stakeholders, effectively communicating priorities, challenges, and risks with a data-driven approach. 

 

What you will need: 

  • 8+ years experience in Business Development, Sales, Partnerships, or related field   

  • 3+ years experience collaborating with cross-functional partners 

  • Experience in consumer-focused retail or ecommerce / marketplace environment  

  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills with comfort presenting and building relationships with executives at retailers 

  • Tenacity, dedication, with strong ownership and autonomy 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high stake, pressure to deliver results, type of environment where you are not afraid to take bold decisions and be highly accountable  

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and derive fulfillment from building new businesses initiatives from beginning stages    

  • Experience leading complex Enterprise deal negotiations in the eCommerce Marketplace space and can take on your previous experience, business acumen and great intuition to deliver & close high-impact retailer partnerships.  

  • Strong leadership characteristics that are unique to you but that also align well with our Walmart Values.
