About the Job 

We’re looking for a talented and driven Senior Technical Program Manager to join our Subscription Product Area team. In this position, you will be responsible for shepherding the development and deployment of various subscription services. We are seeking someone with a strong programming background who understands agile methodologies well and has excellent communication skills paired with organizational abilities.

The Subscription Product Area Team is a newly formed, dynamic, and collaborative group dedicated to developing and deploying cutting-edge subscription services. Our team thrives on innovation, leveraging diverse skill sets and backgrounds to deliver top-notch products like Ads, R&D projects, and Paywalls. We are passionate about technology, value open communication, and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every team member can contribute to our collective success. 

The Daily 

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, your day-to-day activities will involve: 

  • Overseeing multiple technology programs, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. 
  • Creating and managing detailed program plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget tracking. 
  • Collaborating across functions to ensure timely delivery of high-quality subscription product initiatives. 
  • Providing technical guidance and support to product & engineering teams throughout project lifecycles. 
  • Working with Product Managers to establish and create efficient backlogs and organize deployment events. 
  • Promoting and conducting agile practices and scrum ceremonies. 
  • Maintaining open communication channels with product management, engineering teams, and other stakeholders. 
  • Providing regular program status updates and financial reports to senior executives. 
  • Supervising and coordinating 2-3 cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration towards common goals. 
  • Monitoring team performance and implementing remedial actions as needed. 
  • Identifying future resourcing requirements to optimize team utilization. 

The Essentials 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

  • Experience in program management, particularly within technology. Subscription services obviously a plus. 
  • A programming background with hands-on experience in one major programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript,C++, ETC. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and maintain a strong eye for detail. 
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and experience conducting scrum ceremonies. 
  • Superior communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Experience in technical leadership, providing guidance and support throughout project lifecycles. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment. 

The Nice to Haves 

While not required, the following skills and experiences would be a plus: 

  • Experience with cloud services and deployment strategies. 
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g. Kubernetes, IaC, Docker, Jenkins, ETC) 
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools. 
  • Experience in working with or managing remote or distributed teams. 
  • Certifications in program management or agile methodologies (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).
