Internship Summary: We are actively hiring for an IT Software Engineer Intern! This summer, we are looking for motivated individuals looking to begin a career in the software engineering field to support our IT Enterprise Architecture team. 

CSAA Internship Program: As an intern, you will participate in an 11-week summer internship experience with an emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world immersion into our business. Our interns participate in professional development and job-specific training and plenty of networking opportunities to gain deep understanding of their role and department while also broadening their knowledge of CSAA’s business. We offer an Intern Innovation Challenge, executive meet and greets, community service opportunities, and social bonding activities to help you stay connected.

Internship Details: The anticipated dates of our 2026 summer internship will be May 26, 2026 – August 7, 2026. This role is remote. The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $27.00

Essential responsibilities

Ideal Qualifications

• • Pursuing an accredited Bachelor’s program and graduating between December 2026 and May 2027

  • ​Preferred majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, and Statistics.  We welcome all other technical areas of study that includes programming courses in your curriculum.   

  • Familiarity with modern AI tools and platforms, such as generative AI assistants (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT), imagegeneration systems, code assistants, or automation frameworks. 

  • Foundational knowledge of prompt engineering, including how to craft clear, structured prompts, iterate on outputs, and apply techniques such as role prompting, task decomposition, and constraintbased instructions.  

  • Interest in exploring emerging AI capabilities and applying them to improve productivity, workflows, or problemsolving in real project scenarios. 

  • Familiarity and understanding of Object-Oriented design concepts, data structures, and algorithms as well as sound engineering practices 

  • Demonstrable contributions/projects on GitHub or another code repository, with knowledge of 1 to 2 programming languages, technology stacks and or data tools: AWS, Snowflake, Java, J2EE, React, Typescript, Node.js, C++, Python, .Net (VB, C#, ASP), SQL, Splunk, SageMaker, UIPath, etc., 

  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses associated with the languages/tech stacks/tools familiar with 

  • Strong PC skills (MS Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook)  

  • Demonstrated analytical ability 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and organization skills 

  • Hunger for learning  

  • Respects differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds 

  • Comfortable with a constantly changing and uncertain environment that is inherent within a department passionate about innovation 

  • Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US.
