The Role

Apollo Global Management is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join the Global Corporate Credit team that manages ~45 billion in AUM invested globally in leveraged loans, high yield bonds, and private credit. This individual will provide direct support to senior portfolio managers across Apollo's Opportunistic Credit platform.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and detailed ad-hoc analysis in support of Portfolio Managers, including screenings, performance attribution, portfolio optimization, and cash management.
  • Produce regular internal and external portfolio reporting to help optimize investment, monitor risk, and provide visibility to senior leadership.
  • Spearhead and coordinate investor communication and reporting requests.
  • Quarterback large private credit transactions and complex investment opportunities across the full Apollo ecosystem, including liaising across various portfolio managers, client solutions, syndication efforts, and back-office teams.
  • Attend investment committee meetings, track investment decisions, and act as a liaison between the Global Corporate Credit analysts and senior portfolio managers, as well as other teams across Apollo.
  • Assist in top-down optimization of portfolios in all aspects including risk management, liquidity management, strategic allocations, and ad-hoc adjustments.
  • Proactively assist in screening for investment opportunities across strategies.
  • Coordinate with Trading desk on day-to-day investment opportunities.
  • Lead day-to-day fund management and coordination across legal, tax, compliance, operations, finance, and treasury.
  • Identify, implement and lead process improvements, operational efficiencies, and global standardization of internal portfolio management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from undergraduate institution with a record of academic achievement
  • 3-5 years of experience in a capital markets within a global investment bank, or in an analytical or quantitative role related to portfolio management at a financial services firm
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and technical aptitude
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively alongside senior members of the Credit business and across the firm
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Blackmountain Everest, Sungard VPM, Business Intelligence tools
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful self-starter with the ability to thrive both independently and within a team
  • Strong work ethic and who excels in a rigorous and fast-paced work environment

Pay Range

125,000-150,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
