What You Will Do:
This role would be supporting the advisory team in providing a blend of financial management related advisory support services to assist the day-to-day financial management operations to include technical accounting and financial reporting activities.
What You Will Need:
Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust
Bachelors degree
Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting
Knowledge of Federal accounting concepts and standards, Federal procurement concepts (including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act, Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), Government Management Reform Act (GMRA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and relevant Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars and bulletins on financial accounting and internal and system controls.
Experience using SharePoint.
Ability to read, interpret and develop financial management procedural documents.
Understanding of federal property accounting (i.e., capitalization, depreciation, etc.).
Understanding of budgetary accounting.
Ability to research, analyze and reconcile intragovernmental payments and collections (IPACs) and intragovernmental/intradepartmental transactions (i.e., trading partner, advances).
Ability to research, interpret and apply legislative and governing authorities to develop federal financial management policy, regulations, and directives.
Ability to develop point papers, briefing materials, graphical presentations, and to make formal oral presentations of these materials to all levels of government personnel.
Ability to educate and inform management in the various alternatives for delivery of financial/operational services.
Ability to research and implement best practices to remediate and advise on audit findings and internal control deficiencies.
Ability to reference and apply standards such as FMFIA, FFMIA, FISMA, GAO audit and internal control-related guidance.
Ability to provide clear technical direction and guidance to all lower-level personnel, as applicable.
Strong qualitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills
Proven ability to lead and motivate others.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams and Outlook, SharePoint and Skype applications.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with senior Government personnel.
Ability to review, synthesize and prepare highly technical, sensitive, and complex documents, briefing materials, management directives and correspondences.
Knowledge of and experience with Federal financial management activities, including but not necessarily limited to: federal accounting, federal financial statement audits and financial risk management.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Willingness to learn and participate in business development activities and internal firm objectives.
Experience working directly with DOJ
CPA or other government related accounting/financial management certification (e.g., CGFM/CDFM).
