What you bring to SBHG: 

  • Licensed with the Board of Behavioral Science as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) 

  • Valid California Driver's License. 

  • BLS CPR/First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross. 

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work or other related mental health field 

How you will make a difference:

The mental Health Specialist assesses clients at start of treatment (reviews as needed), develops and maintains treatment plans, and conducts family collateral and discharge planning.  Duties include discussing goals and objectives of proposed treatment plans and establishes a contract with the consumer. Interviewing consumers to team with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups on a walk-in/telephone basis; respond to potential suicide or other emergency events. Visits clients, individually or as part of a team, in a variety of living situations, to help assess the mental health needs of individuals and families, observe progress, provide counseling, gather data, and report significant changes in the client's condition to designated professional staff. 

Division/Program Overview 

 The Valley Star Crisis Mobile Response Team operates from 6pm to 8 AM, offering rapid mental health assessments and crisis interventions. Serving all age groups—children, adolescents, adults, and older adults—the program provides essential services for individuals needing immediate crisis intervention and stabilization.
