Role Overview

We are seeking a FIX Onboarding Engineer to join our team and work directly with tier-1 banks on electronic trading systems. This role is not a programming position, but it requires the ability to read and analyze Java code and apply scripting knowledge to support FIX certification and troubleshooting.

You will be responsible for guiding clients through the certification process, managing onboarding efforts, and ensuring smooth connectivity. The ideal candidate is highly communicative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in complex technical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and coordinate FIX connectivity onboarding and certification efforts.
  • Troubleshoot certification issues, analyze log files, and manage complex configurations in UNIX environments.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to track certification status and resolve issues.
  • Apply scripting and basic programming knowledge (e.g., understanding loops, variables, null checks) to support certification tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing clear updates and documentation.

Your Profile

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with FIX Protocol (reading, interpreting, and troubleshooting FIX messages).
  • Ability to read and analyze Java code for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Familiarity with scripting and certification processes.
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle and exposure to testing, deployment, and release practices.
  • Experience with UNIX environments, log file navigation, and configuration management.

General Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
  • Experience in equities and futures/options onboarding and certification.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets and electronic trading flows.
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Slack, and VS Code.
