Salary: £125,674 + Dependent Upon Experience
Location: Wimborne, UK

As Sales Director within Caterpillar’s Marine business, you will lead a global team focused on solving our customers’ toughest challenges. You will deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve business objectives through growing our engine and services sales globally, enabling value-driven solutions and supporting the definition of our product and go-to-market strategies.
In this role, you will oversee a global team of sales managers resulting in a strong focus on customer and dealer success, drive a growth focused culture, and ensure alignment, innovation, and excellence in every customer and dealer interaction.
What You Will Do:
Inspire and guide your team to ensure customers receive the right solution for their application
Deliver Marine business plan sales targets
Develop sales and marketing plans and manage merchandising plans to achieve business plan targets
Ensure customer satisfaction through management of product and commercial issues
Lead selling opportunities identification, customer satisfaction improvement and business relationship enhancement
Deliver robust sales pipeline and associated demand planning

What Skills You Will Have:
Customer Focus: Ensure customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions, and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Translate and communicate those customer needs across the Marine organization to ensure customer success.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Proven ability to analyze complex sales situations, evaluate risks and opportunities, and make informed decisions that optimize deal prioritization and profitability. Provides direction and clarity to the team, ensuring decisions align with strategic objectives.
Effective Communications: Strong communication skills to clearly convey relevant information to all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
Negotiating: Expertise in negotiating high-value deals and agreements. Mentor team members on negotiation techniques to improve overall success rates.
Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers, and internal stakeholders. Leads the team in developing and nurturing strategic relationships.
Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to coach and lead a global team to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the Marine organization.
Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
Industry Knowledge: Prior knowledge of the Marine industry is an advantage although not required.
