CAT Digital Platform team is looking for a talented and motivated front-end developer to build applications used by Caterpillar technicians, Caterpillar Dealers and analysts all over the world. This team also builds reference applications/single page apps demonstrating the power of Platform services and giving a jump start to application developers.  A great opportunity to learn about IoT development!


What You Will Do:

  • Design, developing, and code front-end / user interface software solutions
  • Works directly on complex application/technical problem and deliver resolutions
  • Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features
  • Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
  • Communicate with end users and customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness

What You Will Have:

  • Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements. Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software at scale.
  • Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
  • Software Product Testing: Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements. Hands on experience with testing tools such as Selenium and Cucumber and their integration into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Consideration For Top Candidate:

  • Typically candidate will have 5+ years software development experience or 3+ year of experience with master’s degree
  • Experience in designing and developing customer facing applications using front-end frameworks, libraries (React / Angular / Polymer / Vue) and JavaScript, CSS3, design patterns.
  • Understanding of basic UI/UX concepts and creation of wireframes.
  • Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs
  • Experience or working knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of a high-level language such as Java or similar
  • Passion for technology and an eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment
