The Technical Director, Digital Shows will support new livestream initiatives based out of Yahoo's New York City studios. This position is responsible for ensuring all equipment and facilities are ready for recordings and live broadcasts, switching video sources, and insertion of pre-recorded and live material and graphics as instructed by the show director or producer.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Directing and Directing company live streams

  • Technical Producing live streams and experiential events (in NY and elsewhere in the US) that involve AV, streams or records (tech drawings, procuring gear, testing workflows prior to shows, building show files, etc). 

  • Production Managing one-off shows (creating master sheets, project trackers, ROs, call sheets, deliverable lists, etc) 

  • Acting as liaison between internal teams and vendors to ensure projects run smoothly 

  • Filling in on other production roles as needed (encoding engineer, PTZ op, editing, etc)

  • Providing input into the creative side of the production on both the video and audio aspects of the programming

  • Overseeing the technical quality of the signal being recorded or broadcast

Qualifications:

  • At least four years' experience as a TD in live control room environments

  • Experience with VMix and the ability to produce remote productions using cloud-based production software

  • Calm and efficient communicator capable of giving constructive feedback, as well as receiving and implementing it

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
