As a Linux System Administrator, your responsibilities will include application support, scripting for automation, customizing operating systems to meet specific requirements, and integrating cloud services for enhanced scalability and efficiency.
This position is a remote position and candidates can be located anywhere in Poland. Candidates will be participating in an on-call schedule rotation.
Responsible for:
System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers. Implement OS customizations to optimize performance and meet specific requirements. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, etc.) for automating routine tasks. Streamline system processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Create custom scripts for specific system requirements.
Cloud Integration: Deploy, configure, and manage Linux-based instances on cloud platforms. Implement and manage cloud services like virtual machines, storage, and networking. Optimize systems for cloud-based environments.
Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures for both on-premises and cloud environments. Conduct regular security audits and respond to incidents. Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
User Account Management: Create, modify, and delete user accounts. Manage permissions and access control in both traditional and cloud environments.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and test backup strategies for both on-premises and cloud environments. Perform data recovery tasks as needed.
Networking and Integration: Configure and troubleshoot network settings. Configure and maintain network switches and routers. Collaborate with network administrators to ensure seamless integration with cloud services.
Documentation: Create and maintain system documentation, including customizations and cloud configurations. Develop and update operational procedures for both traditional and cloud-based systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of professional work experience in the information technology field.
Strong knowledge of Linux system administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Experience with shell scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.)
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
Strong knowledge of network protocols, services (DNS, DHCP), and security principles.
Experience with configuration management tools like RedHat Satellite, Ansible, Puppet is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong english communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Professional certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or similar are highly desirable.
Ability to work on call schedule.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
