Overview

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all metro commercial service operations during the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) phase, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery in line with contractual and Employer requirements. This senior leadership role requires extensive experience in railway operations and consulting, with a strong focus on managing O&M Contractors, reviewing operational plans, and ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards. The position involves supervising contractor mobilization, staffing, and operational readiness while ensuring all procedures, manuals, and service plans meet contractual expectations and industry best practices.

Your role

• Oversee all metro commercial service operational activities to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Ensure compliance with O&M Contract requirements and Employer expectations
• Monitor and verify that operations are conducted in accordance with safety standards and regulations
• Oversee O&M Contractors’ mobilization, staffing, and operational readiness
• Review and approve operating procedures, instructions, and operational manuals submitted by contractors
• Evaluate contractors’ code of conduct handbook, timetables, and operational plans
• Ensure all operational documentation complies with contractual obligations
• Coordinate with O&M Contractors to ensure service quality and performance targets are met
• Monitor contractor performance and recommend improvements where necessary
• Support operational planning, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Liaise with stakeholders, including Employer representatives and contractors
• Conduct audits, inspections, and performance reviews of operational activities
• Ensure alignment of operational practices with safety, efficiency, and customer service objectives

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or related field
• Minimum 15 years of managerial experience, including railway or metro operations
• Proven experience in railway consulting and O&M environments
• Strong understanding of metro operations, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Experience in managing O&M Contractors and reviewing operational frameworks
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to review and evaluate operational procedures and documentation
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Experience in performance monitoring and operational audits
