About the team and role:
eBay information security is looking for a candidate with a passion for cybersecurity and developing/automating creative solutions, who will assist with the design, implementation, security and ongoing support of the cyber security tools and processes within their Global Information Security (GIS) Team.
This position will work directly with teams inside and outside of GIS as part of our overarching security strategy for corporate and marketplaces Threat and Exposure Management initiatives.
As a Security Engineer, you will be skilled at identifying security gaps in infrastructure and processes, effectively implement projects/initiatives to address them, demonstrate excellent judgment, prioritization and communication of technical security risks, and act as a liaison supporting business units.
What you will accomplish:
Provide technical input, evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies to support monitoring on-prem and cloud based multifaceted environments
Define security configurations for threat detection and prevention tools
Design automated workflows to streamline security operations
Monitor and proactively manage supported products and services to assure their performance, availability, security, and capacity.
Research, analyzes, and formulates recommendations regarding technologies, products and solutions to fulfill requirements within the enterprise.
Security tool administration and support (Network/Endpoint//Investigations/Vulnerability Management/Hardening)
Deployment and implementation experience on a global scale
Knowledge of system and network architecture and interrelationships (technical and functional).
Develop, implement, configure, and manage solutions within the supported Linux technologies, products, and services.
Support Security DevOps, configuration management (Salt, Git, Ansible etc), automation and orchestration
Deploy pods/containers/daemon sets and manage their end to end lifecycle in a Kubernetes/Container cloud.
Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for operational tasks which leverage available resources and simplify operational overhead.
Develop, implement, and complete standard procedures for the administration, content management, organizational change, version/patch management, and lifecycle management of systems
What you will bring:
Prefer10-12 years of experience in Security Administration and Security DevOps
Proficiency in flavors of Linux operating system
Intimate knowledge of Cloud, Public/Private Cloud security standard methodologies
Knowledge and experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Dockers) technology is a must!
Scripting knowledge (python, shell) proficiency is desired
Knowledge of dev pipelines and DevOps standard methodologies
Solid grasp on systems/tools supporting hardening and vulnerability management.
Ability to analyze and resolve issues independently
Knowledge of project management tasks, experience creating application documentation, and demonstrable ability to train other team members.
Manage maintenance, improvements and upgrades for supported security systems using standard project methodology
Experience working in a highly dynamic large-scale enterprise
Knowledge of security vendors and security product capabilities
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$132,000 - $222,100Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
