Today, St Vincent's Health Australia (SVHA) is one of Australia's largest not-for-profit health and aged care providers, operating hospitals, aged care services, virtual care and community-based services across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

When you join St Vincent's, you're joining an organisation where your work directly contributes to improving the lives of others. Guided by our values of Compassion, Justice, Integrity and Excellence, we're committed to building a better and fairer healthcare system for all Australians.

The Opportunity

We're looking for experienced Accounts Payable Officers to join our high-performing Shared Services Finance team.

We currently have two full-time fixed-term opportunities available:

  • 1 x 4-month full-time fixed-term contract

  • 1 x 12-month full-time fixed-term contract

Both roles offer genuine potential to transition into permanent employment, subject to business requirements and individual performance.

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you'll join a collaborative and customer-focused Shared Services team responsible for delivering end-to-end accounts payable services across St Vincent's Health Australia and affiliated entities throughout New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys solving problems, building strong stakeholder relationships and delivering exceptional customer service. You'll play an integral role in ensuring accurate and timely supplier payments while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and finance transformation projects that enhance efficiency across one of Australia's largest not-for-profit healthcare organisations.

The role is based at our Bowen Hills Head Office (Brisbane) and offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office-based and work-from-home flexibility.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently

  • Managing end-to-end accounts payable activities including reconciliations, creditor management and payment runs

  • Investigating and resolving invoice, payment and three-way matching discrepancies

  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

  • Supporting finance transformation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies

  • Delivering exceptional customer service across the organisation

Things that work for us:

  • At least 4-5 years' experience in Accounts Payable within a medium to large organisation
  • Proven experience in a high-volume transactional finance environment
  • Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable knowledge including invoice processing, reconciliations and payment runs
  • Experience using OCR invoice processing technology and ERP finance systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP systems) will be highly regarded
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex payment issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Qualifications in Business, Finance, Accounting or Administration will be highly regarded
  • More important than your industry background is your alignment to our Mission and Values and your commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Things that work for you:

  • Ability to visibly see your impact on the business and its service

  • Hybrid working model – the ability to work from home and our Bowen Hills Head Office

  • Competitive salary packaging options

  • Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families

  • Access to the Fitness Passport (FP)

At St Vincent’s we value inclusivity and diversity and acknowledge the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, safe, fair and impartial and invites people from all backgrounds to join us.
