Position Summary...

We are looking for a versatile problem solver who bridges gaps across business, product, and technical teams to make Walmart’s item and catalog data work harder for the enterprise. Acting as a cross-functional leader, you’ll drive initiatives that unlock operational & digital performance, improve data quality, and advance how the Catalog supports both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll work on both high-visibility transformation programs and critical day-to-day improvements, whatever it takes to move the ball forward.

You’ll make an immediate impact leading our product classifications platform. Joining this team means shaping how Walmart safeguards trust at scale & uses that trust to build experiences across our ecosystem. We're building foundational, AI-powered infrastructure that detects and blocks dangerous, deceptive, or incoherent content—before it ever reaches a customer. We'll continue expanding this platform for years to come by expanding classification use cases and actions. You’ll help lead a shift from fragmented, reactive enforcement to real-time, intelligent-driven action—tackling some of the most complex customer trust and data quality challenges in retail. If you’re looking to drive meaningful impact, influence enterprise architecture, and work at the intersection of business strategy, AI, and product, this is a career-defining opportunity.

You’ll operate at the intersection of risk mitigation, cost optimization, customer experiences, artificial intelligence and operational efficiency—protect Walmart’s reputation, build customer’s trust in Walmart and help create delightful customer experiences because our customers trust us across a growing assortment. This role requires quantitative discipline, design thinking, tech “intelligence” and the ability to influence across multiple business teams.

What you'll do...

  • Understand and onboard product classification use cases to the platform by writing guidelines and designing workflows and processes

  • Assist stakeholder teams in articulating their problem statements and use cases into easily digestible technical requirements using new technology

  • Utilizing deep domain knowledge and technical expertise, determine if these needs are best met by Walmart’s product catalog.

  • Where Walmart’s product catalog is the ideal solution, draft business and product requirements to be implemented by engineering teams.

  • Where the product catalog is not the best fit, advise stakeholder teams on alternative paths and help them solution accordingly.

What You'll Bring:

  • Technical expertise in translating requirements for software, hardware, or platform capabilities. You understand system/platform design concepts, emerging tools, and technologies, and are up-to-date with information security standards and guidelines

  • A deep understanding of a specific business/domain area, along with knowledge of industry trends, market segments and competitor activities

  • A strong background in risk management methodologies, project management tools, techniques, and methodologies, and financial management tools and processes. You should be comfortable driving monitoring for multiple programs, and identifying and managing key risks

  • Effective communication skills and stakeholder management. You will need to proactively communicate progress and risks, prepare clear and meaningful reports, and communicate complex information to large and diverse audiences

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills. You'll define program success metrics, identify difficult problems and systemic gaps, and lead problem-solving efforts for complex and ambiguous problems

  • Experience working with large, product-based datasets (e.g. catalogs and item files)
