A Day in the Life

The Strategic Accounts Management team is responsible for establishing trusted partnerships with our most important customers. We do this by leveraging our unparalleled breadth, scale, and competitive differentiation through value-added services and solutions, working in close collaboration with Commercial Teams, IHS (Integrated Health Solutions), Functions, CoEs (Centers of Excellence) and other stakeholders to enhance customer experience.


The SEECA SAM Leader appointed in Romania will develop and execute SEECA and local country plans and will manage selected SAM accounts in Romania in partnership with EurAsia and ACEE (Africa and Central and Eastern Europe) Commercial Partnership, local Commercial Teams, IHS and other local stakeholders to create value, deliver accelerated growth and improve customer experience across SEECA and in selected Strategic Accounts for the Medtronic Portfolio.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead the SEECA Strategic Account Management agenda, defining priorities, governance, and execution standards while ensuring alignment with EurAsia, ACEE, country Commercial Teams, IHS, Functions, CoEs, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain senior/C-Suite relationships with strategic customers and partners across SEECA, with direct local accountability for selected strategic accounts in Romania
  • Create and execute SEECA and country-level strategic account plans that reflect customer priorities, deliver value-added solutions, improve customer experience, and support accelerated growth of the Medtronic portfolio
  • Build and coordinate cross-functional account teams, operating mechanisms, and stakeholder engagement to ensure disciplined execution of agreed account plans, projects, and solutions
  • Identify and develop opportunities for profitable sales growth, market share expansion, portfolio optimization, pricing discipline, and long-term contractual partnerships with strategic accounts
  • Lead local insight gathering, competitive tracking, tender strategy, KPI delivery, AOP planning and execution, and regular progress reporting for assigned accounts.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • High university degree in Business, Sciences and or related discipline; MBA / master’s in business or economics qualifications preferred
  • Fluency in English and Romanian language
  • Advanced sales, business development and leadership skills to lead cross-department projects and initiatives or manage across multiple functions, country, region or business
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a commercial leadership role
  • Possesses depth and breadth of technical/ professional knowledge, within the context of the complete organization
  • Ability to travel 50%+ of the time.
