JOB SUMMARY

The Programmer Analyst is a self-motivated developer capable of delivering and maintaining software applications that support the department’s requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software applications (C# and .NET).

• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing systems.

• Write functional specifications of user needs for application development, enhancements, and testing.

• Prepare functional, systems and program specifications.

• Maintain and develop documentation for responsible areas.

• Provide status updates of assigned projects.

• Serve as escalation point for troubleshooting issues.

• Ensure 100% adherence to all IT and department policy, processes and procedures.

• Participate in the exchange of ideas and information within the department.

• Ask questions; encourage input from team members.

• Provide regular updates to appropriate managers.

• Assist in developing, enhancing and maintaining databases and applications.

• Assist in data reporting from databases.

• Troubleshoot and provide bug fixes for production released software.

• Prepare project plans and implementation schedules.

• Maintain positive relations with all employees, encouraging them to suggest ways of improving IT systems.

• Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Security, Health, Safety and Quality).

• Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes that are “best in field”.

• Confer with reporting manager on complex or unusual situations.

• Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.

• Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all areas pertaining to data and proprietary information, whether internal to Jabil or customer specific.

• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Good communications and customer service skills.

• Fundamental understanding of server configuration & management.

• Proven skills in dealing with SQL database. 

• Demonstrate working knowledge and demonstrated ability to handle all stages of SDLC.

• High level of motivation to learn new software technologies that will enhance job performance.

• Advanced programming skills in C# and .NET.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

• Demonstrate a working technical knowledge of database design, administration and development.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree required. 

• Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred.
