As an experienced Image Processing Expert – Medical Devices (m/w/d) supporting our R&D team at the Teltow site near Berlin, you will leverage at least three years of expertise in real-time medical data processing and software development. This role requires a proven ability to design and implement complex solutions for native and web applications, analyze technical specifications, and deliver high-quality prototypes and final products.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Apply your advanced knowledge to real-time data processing, data mining, and visualization for cutting-edge ophthalmology products
• Design and develop robust medical software solutions
• Create detailed technical specifications and ensure comprehensive documentation
• Drive the testing and realization of prototypes and final products

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON (minimum three of these):

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics
• Minimum three years of practical experience in computer vision, image processing, and data analysis with Python or MATLAB, complemented by strong proficiency in C/C++ implementation
• Demonstrated success in designing modular, testable software architectures
• Deep understanding of software architecture and algorithm design
• Experience with multi-threaded/parallel and distributed programming
• Proven ability to develop performance-critical and safety-critical algorithms and code
• Fluent English (oral and written)

NICE TO HAVE:

• Mastery of C/C++ coding and design patterns
• Familiarity with machine learning, OpenCV, and GPU programming (PyTorch, TensorFlow, …)
• Strong grasp of networking protocols and technologies
• Experience with module testing, test automation, scripting, and related tools
