The Student Success Counselor will assist continuing students with processes related to registration. Must have in depth knowledge regarding various areas of the college and work with other subject matter experts such as Advisors, Financial Aid, Registrar etc. to effectively escalate issues. Provides information to students about the functions listed above and assists students continue their enrollment in the Ivy Tech community. This position supports students who “walk-in” to campus or schedule appointments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers questions and provides in-depth information about student success processes for continuing students, in-person, electronically or by phone based on appointments, walk-ins or call ins.

  • Escalates complex issues to subject matter experts.

  • Make appropriate referrals to other departments and campus resources including but not limited to career services, advising, tutoring, wrap-around services, and academic departments.

  • Assists students with course drops and withdrawals, and provide information regarding choices

  • Answers questions and assist students with Schedule Builder and Degree Tracker.

  • Assist students with scheduling face-to-face sessions with subject matter experts.

  • Assist students with tier one financial aid needs and questions.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Compensation: $18.00/ hr.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Prefer at least two years of direct experience in one or more of the following: registration, records, financial aid, admissions, or higher education.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and leadership abilities preferred.
  • Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

This position is part-time temporary/grant-funded and possible continuance past current duration to 06/30/2025 will be dependent on renewal of grant-funding.
