As a DevOps & Architecture Manager, you will lead a team of DevOps Engineers and Solution Architects in delivering robust, scalable, and secure Cloud solutions that support strategic initiatives across Aviva’s complex estate. You will play a key role in driving technical excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

We are looking for a dynamic leader who can inspire a team, exceed expectations, and champion innovation in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of DevOps Engineers and Solution Architects to deliver the best quality services to stakeholders in the UK.

  • Provide high-level direction as well as hands-on technical guidance to ensure high-quality delivery.

  • Supervise and mentor team members, encouraging the adoption of DevOps culture and mindset.

  • Establish objectives and set goals, manage recruitment, train, and assess performance to develop a high-achieving team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.

  • Drive adoption of modern DevOps practices, tools, and technologies.

  • Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, proactivity, and continuous improvements and learning.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Track record of working alongside technical and non-technical stakeholders in an international context.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience managing technical teams in DevOps or software development.

  • Technical awareness and understanding of DevOps technologies such as:

o Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure

o Understanding of Kubernetes and its AWS implementation (EKS)

o CI/CD: Microsoft Azure DevOps, Jenkins (DSL Groovy), Helm

o IaC: Terraform, Packer

o Configuration management: Ansible, Puppet

o Scripting languages: Bash, PowerShell

o Understanding of modern architectural patterns

o Cost optimisation and sustainability

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and modern software engineering principles.

  • Experience working in cross-functional, multinational teams.
