How you will create an impact

  • Proactively assess and manage complex liability claims within authority limits from the first notification of loss to a timely, accurate and customer-focused resolution, performing the corresponding coverage and quantum analysis throughout the claims’ lifecycles.
  • Demonstrate financial control with timely and accurate reserving methodology, and effective vendor and litigation management.
  • Display claim file handling precision and thoroughness.
  • Strict adherence to AIG Claims Handling Policy and Guidelines and best practice procedures for Financial Lines & Casualty claims, as well as applicable service level agreements and local regulations.
  • Maintain close collaboration / communication with internal stakeholders, such as the underwriting and accounting teams, as well as with our business partners / brokers.
  • Proactively identify and review suspicious / fraudulent claims on a consistent basis, in line with company's internal requirements.
  • Foster excellent professional relationships with internal / external customers to excel in customer service.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • B.A. (required) and JD (preferred)
  • Adjuster’s License (preferred)
  • Experience with working in commercial insurance, preferably in claims.
  • Understanding of insurance concepts and familiarity with policy language / interpretation.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory and/or procedural requirements in Puerto Rico.
  • Computer literate in MS office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Effective communication, time management, administrative and report-writing skills.
  • Collaborative skills and the ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Lateral thinking and the ability to problem solve and develop new ideas to improve working practices.
