This role drives good and healthy employee engagement within the company. Ensuring constructive and open dialogue between management and employees, fostering a positive, productive, and compliant work environment where value is created for the company and the employees. Ensure the application of ER vision,  strategy and governance at all levels of the organization. Manage the relationship between the company and employee representative bodies, like staff/workers councils and unions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage collective bargaining strategy in accordance with local employee relations principles and governance.

  • Directly conduct and lead negotiations with unions, ensuring professional, respectful, and sustainable agreements.

  • Assess long-term impacts of agreements on financial sustainability, operational stability, and employee relationships.

  • Manage consultation processes with unions and employee representative bodies in collaboration with HR and business leaders.

  • Handle industrial actions in consultation with the Regional Employee Relations Director, ensuring alignment with company governance frameworks.

  • Represent the company before local labor authorities in administrative processes and other official matters.

  • Oversee and administer disciplinary procedures in compliance with company policy and labor law.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee grievances, conducting impartial investigations and facilitating resolution.

  • Partner with managers to ensure corrective actions are fair, consistent, and well-documented.

  • Provide expert advice and support to People Function professionals on employee relations matters.

  • Recommend corrective or preventive measures to leadership based on case outcomes and trends.

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, collective agreements, and company governance frameworks.

  • Advise employees and managers on policies, procedures, and employment regulations.

  • Collaborate with HR partners to update and communicate workplace policies.

  • Ensure ER principles are considered in new initiatives, changes to employment terms, and strategic projects.

  • Promote open, transparent communication with employees and representative bodies, driving constructive dialogue and trust.

  • Identify implications between business strategy and the local employee relations landscape, advising leaders accordingly.

  • Support ER training and capability development for frontline leaders.

  • Collaborate with HR and employee experience teams to embed agreements into local processes and policies.

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • 8+ years of progressive employee relations experience, including direct engagement with unions and a proven track record of successful collective bargaining agreement negotiations.

  • Proven experience in effectively resolving complex employee issues, including leading employee relations dialogues, conducting investigations, and administering disciplinary case management

  • Strong knowledge of applicable labor law, regulations & standards

  • Excellent communication,  negotiation, mediation & conflict resolution  skills.

  • Stakeholder management and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • English proficiency
