23.52 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Sacramento: Downtown Center (In-person position)

Working Hours/Shift:

Monday- Friday, AM shift

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required
  • Personal experience as a consumer, foster parent, or parent of a child in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems
  • One (1) year of full-time experience performing non-professional, consumer directed services in a mental health, health care, or other social services agency / organization serving people with disabilities preferred.
  • Peer Support Specialist Certification: successful completion of the certification process within one year of employment (required / preferred).
  • Valid California Driver's License.

How you will make a difference (job overview):

This position is responsible for working with families, which includes caregivers, parents, and natural supports, to help represent their best interests. The Peer Partner Counselor participates in various treatment team meetings and actively participates in the development of care plans. The Peer Partner Counselor demonstrates the ability to conduct a strengths interview with family members; tell own story to engage families; build on family strengths; communicate clearly; complete documentation and assist other team members in coordinating services.
