Role Definition: 

A Salesforce Application Specialist is a professional who deeply understands the Salesforce platform and works with businesses to implement, configure, and maintain the CRM system to meet their specific needs, including analyzing business requirements, designing solutions, customizing features, providing user training, and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal usage of the platform. Candidates should have 7+ years of Salesforce experience and salesforce platform developer certifications.
 

Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end solutions leveraging Salesforce Experience Cloud to meet business needs.
• Create high-level and detailed technical designs, including wireframes, workflows, and system architecture diagrams.
• Guide the use of Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Visualforce, and Apex for custom functionality.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, UX/UI designers, and developers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators, Developers, and Consultants to ensure best practices in implementation.
• Provide technical solutions on content strategy, branding, and personalization within Experience Cloud.
• Optimize site performance by minimizing load times, caching strategies, and efficient data retrieval.
• Develop best practices, reusable components, and documentation for ongoing maintenance.
• Train internal teams on Experience Cloud capabilities and administration.
• Stay updated with Salesforce releases, new features, and industry trends.
• Recommend enhancements and new technologies to improve user experience and engagement.

Skill Required:

Technical Skills:

Salesforce Core Expertise:

• Proficient in Salesforce Loyalty Management Platform configuration, design, and customization.
• Skilled in building and managing Salesforce Experience Cloud (formerly Community Cloud) sites, including theming, branding, and component development.
• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud setup, journey orchestration, email studio, and campaign automation.
• Strong expertise in the following clouds: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud.
• Experience defining technical solutions, gathering systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
   

Salesforce Development:

• Understanding of Salesforce declarative tools like Flow, Process Builder, and Validation Rules.
• Proficient knowledge of Apex programming, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce.
• Familiarity with Salesforce APIs for integrations with external systems.
   

Architecture and Technical Design:

• Expertise in designing scalable and robust Salesforce solutions.
• Experience with architectural frameworks and methodologies.
• Ability to create detailed technical design documents and system architecture diagrams.
• Proficient in implementing CI/CD pipelines and optimizing deployment strategies.
   

Functional and Soft Skills:

Business Analysis and Stakeholder Management:

• Ability to gather and translate business requirements into Salesforce solutions.
• Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, and customer service departments.
   

Problem-Solving and Innovation:

• Capable of troubleshooting and resolving complex Salesforce platform issues.
• Strong ability to recommend innovative solutions to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
   

Project Management:

• Experience working in agile environments with tools like Jira or Trello.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
   

Training and Documentation:

• Proficient in creating training materials and conducting workshops for end-users.
• Skilled in documenting technical processes and configurations for long-term maintenance.
   

Required Certification:

• A 4-year college or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of enterprise technology experience is recommended.
• Salesforce Platform Developer 1(Include Trailblazer profile link in your resume).
• Salesforce Platform Developer 2(Include Trailblazer profile link in your resume).

Certifications (Preferred):

• Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant Certification.
• Salesforce Application Architect.
• Salesforce System Architect.

This position is currently a hybrid in-office work model, requiring 3-day weekly office presence onsite at our (location) office and remote work for the remaining days.  However, work arrangements may be adjusted at any time based on business needs.

Summary Pay Range:

$116,532.00 - $216,384.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
