Job Description:

Summary of the position:

The HIES North America Finance / Credit Manager position is responsible for the entire credit and collections process, from new customer account setup to invoicing/collections to cash applications.

This position can work from HGAP Chicago or Michigan City, Indiana. 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage and motivate credit analysts to ensure smooth operations of credit department
    • Cash applications
    • Manual transaction processing
    • Credit hold reviews/releases
    • High risk accounting reporting
  • Complete credit analysis for new account setup request
    • Pull D&B reports
    • Analyze customer financial statements
    • Establish credit limit
    • Establish payment terms
  • Review and approve/deny requests for increases in credit limits
  • Review and approve/deny requests for payment terms exceptions
  • Manage customer credit review documentation
  • Manage cross-functional department relationships (sales, customer service, warranty, operations)
  • Manage collections BPO
    • Weekly meetings to review priority accounts
    • Assist with escalating severely delinquent accounts
    • Personally assist in deep dives and reconciliations as required
  • Bad Debt analysis and monthly accrual
  • Weekly cash forecast submitted to Hitachi
  • Month end A/R reporting
    • Top Past Due by BU/Region
    • Bad debt
    • Unapplied cash
  • Responsible for GCC code creation and maintenance
  • Maintain and recommend changes to credit and collections policies as required
  • Assist with annual internal/external audits as required

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Five plus years of credit experience. Bachelor's degree in business or related field

Professional experience:

  • Have a thorough knowledge of corporate credit and collections
  • Have experience with customer negotiations
  • SAP experience is a plus

Key behaviors:

  • Works in a fast-paced office environment
  • Occasional longer than normal working days may be necessary

Direct reports:

  • Credit analyst staff
