We’re seeking a Software Architect Project Manager to join our Infotainment and Connected Engineering team in Farmington Hills, MI.
This role will coordinate software development related to Infotainment and Connected systems with regional and global counterparts. Overseeing the management of software safe launch activities and KPIs related to vehicle development/validation milestones. Managing the regional frontline software strategy.
A Day in the Life:
Manage Software Safe Launch strategies to achieve short and long-term business objectives.
Manage Software development and audit processes to meet project timing and requirements.
Collaborate with Nissan Technical Center Japan (NTC), Nissan Mexico (NMEX), regional Cross Functional Testing (CFT) members, and suppliers, and track the progress of team output to report results to critical persons supporting Safe Launch to meet vehicle and non-vehicle project timing.
Lead resolution of software-related cross-functional issues with other Research & Development departments, other divisions of Nissan (Manufacturing, etc.), and suppliers.
Manage identification and definition of software projects, systems, functions, configurations, evaluations, and abnormal cases.
Manage lessons learned and recurrence prevention activities and implement in software processes to enhance safe launch with the continuous pursuit of early detection.
Who We're Looking For:
Understanding of Nissan Test and Design components and development process.
Extensive automotive software experience and general knowledge of audio/infotainment and connected car technologies
Strong interpersonal, communication, influence, and problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate has the following knowledge and abilities:
Can define an overall project overview of the system.
Can identify the project characteristics of the base system.
Can define the project aims, objectives, scope, and target costs.
Can define a system overview, system configuration, and overview definition.
Can identify the system scope, impact, and validity of changes.
Can define the system outline and identify the points that must be developed.
Can define the function details of the system, including its configuration.
Can locate the function scope, impact, and validity of changes.
Can define state transitions, function details, compatibility constants, and system configuration details.
Can define the software design strategy.
Can identify and conduct a software design plan.
Can define and conduct detailed software design reviews (software sweep).
Can define software configuration method.
Can identify software configuration structure.
Can define software configuration architecture.
Can define software analysis requirements.
Can locate and conduct software evaluation reviews.
Can define software evaluation requirements.
Can define abnormal cases, edge cases, and procedures.
Can identify the abnormal function scope, impact, and validity of changes.
Can define the focus areas of abnormal function handling.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
8+ years of professional-related experience.
R&D software development or other relevant experience (4+ years at an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)/related preferred).
Experience in Electrical Design is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
Master's degree is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Japanese is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Travel:
Up to 10-20%.
Both domestic and international may be required.
Overtime:
Willingness to work overtime as necessary to complete the job.
