Job Purpose
 

ViiV Healthcare is seeking an experienced, passionate, results-driven professional for the position of Key Account Manager (KAM) – HIV Prevention reporting to the National Sales Director. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment and work with HCPs to adopt a new approach to HIV prevention will be essential to delivering success in this role. Additionally, the abilities to partner cross-functionally and to remain highly adaptable in a launch context will be critical. It is expected that the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing strategic business plans with specific, measurable, action-oriented objectives in accordance with territory and account level goals. Successful outcomes will include selling to HCPs, servicing their accounts, and being aligned to ViiV Healthcare’s mission of leaving no person with HIV behind.

Territory:  The Prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba). 

Details (Your Responsibilities):


This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Uncover care gaps, local barriers and key customer needs to drive strategic objectives for the accounts.
  • Ensuring launch success in HIV prevention by optimizing the patient journey and materializing innovative partnership opportunities and solutions that are at the intersection of HCP & patient journey pain points and brand priorities.
  • Develop and execute account plans that are tailored to the unique needs of each customer and that help HCPs scale their prevention model to reach more people at risk for HIV.
  • Embrace accountability and empowerment to make quick decisions that consider key business needs/impact while maintaining a “bigger picture view” and ensuring prioritization to overall objectives.
  • Be an agent of change by embracing the ambiguity in a launch environment and proposing solutions to challenges.
  • Engage with HCPs, nurses, staff, and administrators to accurately understand the clinical, organizational, and financial challenges and opportunities within target accounts. The key account manager is at the forefront of customer and patient needs.
  • Coordinate, engage, and partner with multiple cross-functional team members to deliver an integrated ViiV customer experience.
  • Embrace and advocate for multichannel digital/virtual engagement and communication to ensure customers are receiving current and timely communications/value.

  • Escalate issues and risks when needed; display courage by ‘speaking up.’
  • Understand and follow key compliance and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate and collaborate with National Sales Director, fellow specialist representatives and cross-functional partners (marketing, medical, community etc.)
  • Report, timely, all adverse events identified during their activities in accordance with internal policies (including VH-CORP-400) and training, and any follow-up information received.

Basic Qualifications:
 

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience with a strong record of achievements and proven business acumen.
  • Strong understanding and experience in the development and execution of strategic account management principles
  • Experience in developing strategic business plans with specific, measurable, action-oriented objectives.
  • Strong planning and organization skills, analytical ability, business acumen, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience partnering cross functionally with other field-based team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed, which may include overnight travel.
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Knowledge of the HIV treatment and/or prevention markets preferred.
  • Experience working with HCPs to procure, manage, and administer injectable products.
  • Experience launching new products.
  • Highly Preferred Pharmaceutical Account Management experience as consistent top performer, of which should include specialty such as HIV, Hepatitis C, Hemophilia OR Sickle Cell Anemia
  • Strong connection to and understanding of community needs, specific to HIV treatment and prevention; with enthusiasm to promote long acting injectables to key communities.
  • Experience with how community and healthcare systems connect.
