Operations Manager (Onsite)

Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH (PWAEI), an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies Corporation (RTX), is an international aerospace company headquartered in Lucerne, Switzerland. PWAEI is collaborating with three other aerospace companies to produce and maintain the V2500 commercial aircraft engine, which powers the Airbus A320ceo and Embraer C-390 family of aircraft.

Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International Services GmbH (PWAEIS), located in Venlo, The Netherlands, is managing the European Logistics Center (ELC) to support spare parts and production logistics for PWAEI and Pratt & Whitney (PW). To strengthen the team we are looking for an Operations Manager to manage the expansion and increased complexity of the ELC.

Areas of Responsibility include, but are not limited:

• To lead daily operations in a Third Party Logistics (3PL) environment ensuring benchmark performance levels (KPI On Time Delivery: 100%).
• To oversee all contractual obligations of the 3PL contract.
• To ensure efficiency outputs whilst prioritizing Safety and Quality.
• To prepare and  implement operational requirements for infrastructure and systems resulting from the transformation strategy at ELC (i.e. implementing multiple aerospace programs, resulting in annual outbound volumes to increase 100% in next 2 years).
• To drive continuous improvement program using CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) tools realizing quick corrective action and long-term preventative solutions.
• To monitor, report and engage in supplier (quality) performance and assurance.
• To manage/execute tasks such as: inventory control, invoice management, critical shipment expedites and import/export oversight.
• To work closely with Customer Account Managers to ensure customer needs are met.
• To ensure efficiency and compliance in import/export clearance.
• To establish a good relationship with Dutch Customs and RTX Global Trade department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or demonstrated working experience at that level.
• Fluent in written and spoken English is a must.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Good knowledge of warehousing processes, management experience preferred.
• Proven track record of managing Customs processes.
• Experience with transport management is a pre.
• Proficient in ERP systems, preferably SAP, and Microsoft Office.
• Hands-on, detailed focused approach with the ability to also take a helicopter view.
• Knowledge and/or experience in continuous improvement strategies.
• Ability to work with associates at all levels throughout a multinational organization.

What is my role type?

This position is within the Product Delivery & Customer Experience department, ensuring timely availability and delivery of parts from suppliers to customers. It’s ideal for a hands-on person who combines Warehousing, Customs, Systems and Transport experience with the ability to drive structured, qualitative execution in a regulated (aerospace) environment.

The job responsibilities are predominately performed on-site, Venlo and require international travel occasionally. Candidate must have legal authorization to work in The Netherlands.
