The IT Business Senior Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.

What We do / The Team

FI Technology is looking to hire an experienced analyst based in Chennai. This is a global team with a client base spanning 70+ countries. This role will be within the Rates Risk Technology team.

Risk Technology is focused on delivering solutions to the Rates Trading desks. This team develops and maintains a complete suite of Risk technology solutions, for both the Rates and FX (including Derivatives) Businesses.

​Role Overview/What will you do:

• Drive payments function related development, enhancements and testing in Rates Risk technology team

• Define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals through partnership with decision makers, systems owners and end users.
• Filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources and perform other duties and functions as assigned
• Recommends actions for future developments & strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements to system.
• Involved in exploratory data analysis, confirmatory data analysis and/or qualitative analysis
• Continuously improve processes and strategies by exploring and evaluating new data sources, tools, and capabilities
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges. Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows. Translate business requirements into clear and concise functional specifications for technical teams.
• Well versed with Agile Methodology. Act as a Product Owner and create User story backlog for the requirements/epics. participate in Daily Scrum meetings.
• Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements.
• Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects and foster communication between business leaders and IT
• Support system change processes from requirements through implementation and provide input based on analysis of information
• Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and provides user and operational support
• Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
• Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and work as a team to achieve business objectives, performing other duties and functions as assigned
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Key Skills and Experience required

• 5-8 years of experience in business analysis or systems analysis
• Strong financial product knowledge and understanding of related quantitative methods.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Proven interpersonal, diplomatic and influencing skills
• Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Strong SQL skills for querying, manipulating, and optimizing relational database operations.
• Excellent technical and programming skills Python for data analysis.

Education:

• Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
