This role is primarily remote with occasional onsite needs in the Phoenix area. The Schedule is 5/8's Monday - Friday based around general business hours. In this role you will handle coordination of scheduling, data entry, report running out of Event modules, scribe responsibilities for RCA/ACA, and low level event triage. You will need to be proficient in the Microsoft suite, technology competent and able to understand medical terminology.

This position performs entry-level patient safety event reporting activities to support the business function of the Patient Safety Department. This position is accountable for low volume category event triage, determination/analysis coordination activities with leaders and participants, end user event entry coaching, leader investigation documentation coaching, generating and preparing safety event reports, event reporting trending, and other safety related activities in a timely and accurate manner.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assists in the reinforcement and consistent use of a standardized patient safety taxonomy and evaluation system.
2. Assists with the coordination of determination/analysis scheduling in collaboration with entity leaders.
3. Collaborates with and provides support for leaders conducting patient safety event investigation and closure.
4. Supports triage of safety events and near miss events: a) Daily review of safety events; b) Identification and escalation of events for further review.
5. Supports Patient Safety department through data entry for determination and analysis documentation and tracking for local and enterprise level trending.
6. Data entry for determination and analysis documentation and tracking.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience plus 1 year of experience in a healthcare related field to understand and use medical terminology.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and colleagues, as described above.
Operational knowledge of computer software applications, including MS Office (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint).
Must be able to follow verbal directions and instruction to perform work as described above.
Must have the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a variety of tasks and activities in a timely and effective manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience with scheduling or project management preferred.
Familiarity with Cerner EHR preferred.
Possesses experience with process improvement concepts and tools, group facilitation, data management, and analysis including graphic development and presentations is highly desirable.
Knowledge of safety and reliability science, Lean Six Sigma, and/or Just Culture preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
