The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is offering an exciting internship opportunity within the Business Unit Transformers for students passionate about innovation and engineering. As an intern in our R&D program, you will support the development and delivery of advanced software solutions tailored for transformer mechanical design engineers.

How you’ll make an impact

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and align solutions with industry standards.

• Support the implementation of new product features in the mechanical design platform.

• Contribute to risk analysis and help develop mitigation strategies for project success.

• Participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning and retrospectives.

• Assist in testing and debugging to ensure software quality and performance.

• Learn from experienced engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.

• Help drive innovation by incorporating user feedback and proposing enhancements.

Your background

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong interest in design engineering and software development.

• Familiarity with 3D modeling tools such as Creo is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C, C#, Java, Python, VB, C++, etc.).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

• Willingness to learn and contribute in a global, collaborative environment.
