Trouw Nutrition is seeking a Risk Manager – Commodities in our Puslinch, ON office focused on commodities and price risk mitigation to safeguard the company from financial exposure caused by market volatility. In this role, you will develop and execute risk management strategies, utilizing hedging instruments like futures, options, and swaps to mitigate price fluctuations. Your expertise will help ensure stability across the supply chain and support cost management.

Key responsibilities include analyzing market trends, monitoring price movements, and providing actionable insights to leadership. You will collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to align risk strategies with broader business objectives.

About The Role: Develop and implement risk management strategies

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze market trends and commodity price movements
  • Execute hedging strategies to mitigate price risks
  • Monitor risk exposures and adjust strategies as needed
  • Prepare and present risk reports to senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies with business goals
  • Engage with external partners and maintain market awareness

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA or FRM preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in commodities risk management
  • Hands-on experience with derivatives, futures, options, and swaps
  • Familiarity with risk management software and trading platforms is an asset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Bilingual French and English is an asset

Expectation from the Role:

  • Deep knowledge of commodity markets and hedging techniques
  • Strong decision-making under uncertain conditions
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and risk analysis
  • Safeguard the company’s exposure to commodity price volatility and support strategic decision-making
  • Hybrid mode: Required to be in the office for at least 2 days per week
